What Does This Pump Have to Offer You?
Willow Go: Elastic Nipples
Yes!! This flange has a long tunnel length making it compatible with the longer inserts and options needed to size down for smaller elastic nipples, and the flange length AS IS beats most other wearables for those not needing inserts.
Vibration, combined with good suction and faster cycle speeds, makes this an excellent candidate for the parent with more elastic nipples looking for a wearable they shouldn’t have to hack and stress over using. I would even go so far to say, of the currently available wearable options, this may be the safest bet for elastic nipples!
Willow Go: Flat or Inverted Nipples
Based on the initial testing of this pump this pump should perform perfectly well for ALL nipple types. The flanges have a nice curve to them that will fit a variety of breast shapes allowing even short, flat, or inverted nipples to be properly pulled into the tunnel without large air gaps that can cause pain or poor stimulation. The gentle vibration helps elicit letdown quicker than other wearable pump options, which can allow for lower suction levels to be utilized. This is very helpful in the case of more inelastic nipple tissue as strong suction can be particularly painful.
Willow Go: Discretion
The flanges on this pump are designed so that the opening sits higher on the flange, meaning the pump fits lower on the chest. While it still provides quite the bust line enhancement, the positioning, combined with the shape, makes it somewhat unnoticeable.
You can hear this pump while pumping, but it’s no louder than other wearables (except for the Elvie OG which still holds the title for quietest pump around) and in a room with any background noise, it is undetectable. In a silent room, it can be heard over phone or video, but it is not disruptive.
Willow Go: Travel
Willow Go is so easy to travel with. This is a huge plus for this pump! It uses standard micro usb charging cords (and isn’t bound to using a particular cord to protect the warranty! This means you can pop the hubs on a portable power bank and charge them quickly on-the-go without any hassles!
Another bonus is how easy it is to clean the parts. There are really no nooks or crannies to have to fight against. The pump parts are compact and easily fit in multiple pump bags without being cumbersome.
Willow Go: Bra Selection
Finding a bra that fits YOU well with and without wearable pumps in it, that also accommodates the normal fluctuations in sizing that are typical postpartum, is not always an easy task.
These pumps add about 4 inches to your bust line so you will want to factor that in when purchasing your bra.
Willow Go: Adjustment Period
An adjustment period is possible with any pump, but the suction patterns for this pump are very similar in speed and strength to many popular standard pumps, meaning it’s not very likely to have a significant adjustment period for anyone. Hooray!
Willow Go: Cleaning
Cleaning the Willow Go is super easy. However…
DO NOT PUT YOUR HUBS IN THE DISHWASHER!
The Willow Go hubs could very easily be mistaken for the containers or parts. Only clean Willow Go parts using your gentle brushes, fingers and a good breastmilk removal soap, like Dapple or Dawn Power wash. Until we know for sure if warping will be an issue, you want to protect your parts.
