Mimi and Pal Harper Bag Review

Disclaimer: This bag was purchased, not gifted.

I want to be completely honest, I bought this bag after several clients saw it on a video by Alison with New Little Life and asked about it. Even watching that glowing review, I really wasn’t sold on it. I had a fanny pack I used to hold my smaller pumps, and it worked, but was not very attractive at all. And, of course, all of the social media featured a mom who would look cute with a plastic bag hanging out of her leggings to hold a pump. Of course the bag looked cute on her, but I didn’t see how the bag would benefit me, personally. I just wasn’t sold that what would make pumping better was a more expensive fanny pack.

I was wrong. Like, dead wrong. So. Very. Very. Wrong.

When I opened the package, I was blown away at how high-end it felt. This was not a more expensive fanny pack; this was the fanny pack pumping parents needed all along! I had several smaller portable pumps I loved, but clipping them my pants was a fail, hanging them on a lanyard was uncomfortable, and the fanny pack I had, while functional, looked like it belonged in the 90’s. This bag solved the challenges of portable pumps for me AND looked good doing so.

I immediately wanted to be able to share it with more clients, but didn’t want to do so until I saw the strap extender. I’m not a small girl, and while the bag fit me, it just barely fit me. I needed to reach out to get this arranged, and I was blown away at how friendly their customer service was. Not only did this company create a product that I fell in love with, they were exceptionally friendly to work with. I can’t help but love a company when these two things happen.

Harper Bag Size:

The Harper Bag is a small, clutch bag that can be worn as a fanny pack, a cross body bag, or hooked to your stroller. The bag is just big enough to hold what you need to use a small portable pump, or to double as a very small quick trip diaper bag. It is about the size of the average fanny pack in the 1990’s with less bulky depth.

Harper Bag Storage:

It has a secure main compartment for small portable pumps with grommets built into the side to easily route pump tubing. The front of the bag is a waterproof wipes pocket. The interior main compartment has a small zipper pocket to hold valuables like your keys. The back zipper pocket is perfectly sized for your phone.

Harper Bag Quality:

This bag is incredibly high quality and stylish! It’s a functional pumping product designed to help a pumping parent feel less utilitarian than many pumping accessories can feel. The bag does what it says it will do, and it does it well! The material and hardware feel high end and frequent use has not caused much wear at all. This product feels like it will easily last through several children - which is great as once you have the level of convenience this bag provides with a portable pump, you won’t want to go back.

Overall thoughts:

This bag won me over from something that seemed unnecessary to something I can’t imagine using my portable pumps without. As a mom who is active while pumping and has an active toddler running around trying to push every button on the “pumpers” he can, this bag is invaluable. For my clients, this bag consistently makes pumping with a portable pump more comfortable and easy. And, it’s a bag you can use even after pumping ends and you move to the next stage in parenting. I absolutely love this product and cannot wait to see what this fabulous company comes up with next!
